The company was founded back in 1995 by a team of surveyor engineers.

GEOAPIKONISIS is ranked among the pioneers for providing efficient demand - driven integrated solutions of geo information systems, user - specific geo information layers and shelf developed products, thanks to a constant investment and focus in exploiting novel technologies.

During the past twenty years, the company has successfully, provided services to Public Bodies and Private Companies in Greece and other EU member states as well as to EU Institutions and has established a Europe wide network of qualified collaborators.

The company applies a certified Quality Management System (IQNet registration No GR.02.34.01/495) compliant to ISO 9001 prototype, since 28 May 1999. The System has been upgraded to comply with the ISO 9001:2008 since February 2010.

Implementation of the Archaeological Cadaster

Contract signature for the project "Implementation of the Archaeological Cadaster: Digitization Work (Scan, geo referencing, vectorization), Identification of Location for Immovable properties / Areas/ Monuments  and Field Works". Ministry of Culture and Sports, General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage, Directorate of Expropriations and Immovable Property.

The project refers to the digital documentation and database & metadata generation of analogical files (decisions, maps, diagrams, drawings, etc) of the various divisions of the Ministry, relating to cultural heritage assets (prehistorical to modern period).


Copernicus EMS Mapping User Workshop 2017

GEOAPIKONISIS, Service Provider, in the context of the Risk & Recovery Mapping  module, participated at the annual user workshop of the Mapping component of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS), which was hosted by the EC Joint Research Centre Ispra (Italy). http://emergency.copernicus.eu/mapping/ems/copernicus-ems-mapping-user-workshop-2017

The workshop is the annual forum at which users, service providers, the Commission and other stakeholders discuss the service component. Through its presentation “Technical and scientific capacity of Risk & Recovery Mapping” and the discussions undertaken, the entity contributed through analysing the potential of the Risk & Recovery Mapping module and profited from user experiences and analytic presentations of the other CEMS components (EFFIS & EFAS), and new developments.


Copernicus EMS-RRM || EMSN037 Activation

GEOAPIKONISIS, Service Provider, in the context of the Risk & Recovery Mapping  module, was assigned to perform  pre‐disaster situation analysis concerning a number of specific hazards, namely: Earthquake, Flood, Tsunami, and Landslide at three cities Arica (Chile), Tacna (Peru) and Maputo (Mozambique).

The assessment includes risk assessment products; exposure, vulnerability and risk maps. Towards adequate disaster preparedness and efficient support of informed decision making concerning planning and recovery activities of the involved stakeholders,  potential and extent of occurrence of secondary risks (Soil or Coastal erosion) is evaluated and  risk - specific mitigation measures are proposed, along with the specification of critical first response information.

Key user of the geospatial data is the UNESCO Section on Earth Sciences and Geo-Hazards Risk Reduction. The results for Arica and Tacna are intended to support UNESCO's project "Enhancing Natural HAzard resilience iN South America (ENHANS) while those for Maputo the UNESCO's ‐ School Safety project.
